I will use the last talk of the year in the Combinatorics Seminar to give a brief introduction to the research software “polymake” (polymake.org). I will introduce various mathematical objects, including polytopes, matroids, and tropical hypersurfaces. I will introduce some open research questions, and of course your questions are welcome. Moreover, I encourage you to bring a laptop with polymake installed. Try it!
